Terms of Service & Repair Agreement

Effective Date: October 25, 2026
Last Updated: October 25, 2026

Welcome to The Reboot Ranch. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern all repair services, custom computer builds, IT support, and diagnostics provided by Reboot Ranch Limited trading as The Reboot Ranch ("we," "our," or "us") to you ("Customer," "you," or "your").

By submitting a device for repair, requesting a custom build, or purchasing IT services from us, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Services & Diagnostics

  • 1.1. Initial Assessment: Upon receiving your device, we will perform diagnostics to identify hardware or software issues.
  • 1.2. Diagnostic Fees: If diagnostic fees apply, you will be informed prior to work commencing. Diagnostic fees are non-refundable but are typically waived or applied toward the final cost of repair if you proceed with our recommended service.
  • 1.3. Quotes & Authorization: We will provide an estimated quote before completing any major repair work. Proceeding with a repair requires your verbal, written, or digital authorization.

2. Customer Responsibilities & Data Backup

  • 2.1. Data Responsibility: You are solely responsible for backing up all existing data, software, and files prior to handing over your device.
  • 2.2. Data Loss Disclaimer: While we take extreme care when handling customer equipment, The Reboot Ranch accepts no liability for data loss, corruption, or media damage during diagnostic testing, repair, or data transfer processes.
  • 2.3. Passwords & Access: You must provide necessary administrative passwords or pin codes required for diagnostic testing and repair verification.

3. Repair Risks & Pre-existing Damage

  • 3.1. Pre-existing Defects: We are not responsible for pre-existing physical damage, liquid ingress damage, wear-and-tear, or hidden component failures revealed during disassembly or testing.
  • 3.2. Liquid Damage Repairs: Liquid damage repairs carry inherent risks. Due to ongoing corrosion, devices with prior liquid exposure may degrade over time or fail during or after repair. Repairs on liquid-damaged hardware are conducted on a best-effort basis and carry limited or no warranty unless explicitly specified.
  • 3.3. Micro-Soldering & Component Repair: Advanced repairs (e.g., HDMI port replacement, power IC repair) involve extreme heat and delicate circuitry. In rare instances, pre-damaged chips may fail entirely during thermal processing.

4. Custom PC Building & Component Sourcing

  • 4.1. Deposit: Custom PC build orders require a non-refundable deposit covering hardware component costs prior to procurement.
  • 4.2. Component Warranties: Hardware components used in custom builds carry manufacturer warranties. We will assist in processing RMA claims for hardware purchased through us during the first 12 months.
  • 4.3. Compatibility & Upgrades: We select compatible components based on agreed budget and performance specs. Any subsequent user modifications or improper overclocks void our assembly warranty.

5. Warranties & Guarantee

  • 5.1. Repair Warranty: Standard repairs performed by The Reboot Ranch carry a 90-day warranty on replacement parts and labor from the date of collection/delivery, unless stated otherwise on your invoice.
  • 5.2. Warranty Exclusions: Our warranty does not cover:
    • Subsequent accidental damage, drops, liquid spills, or physical impact.
    • User modifications, unauthorized third-party repairs, or tampered warranty seals.
    • Software issues, malware/virus infections, or operating system corruptions caused post-repair.
    • Consumable parts (e.g., thermal paste degradation over extended periods, normal battery depletion).
  • 5.3. Warranty Claims: If a fault reoccurs within the warranty period, you must return the device to us for re-inspection. If the issue is determined to be unrelated to the original repair, standard diagnostic/repair fees will apply.

6. Payment & Abandoned Property

  • 6.1. Payment Terms: Full payment is required upon completion of services before devices are released or returned to you.
  • 6.2. Uncollected Devices: Devices ready for collection or return must be picked up within 30 calendar days of notification of repair completion or quote rejection.
  • 6.3. Property Disposal: If a device remains uncollected and unpaid for more than 60 calendar days from our final notification, it will be deemed abandoned. We reserve the right to recycle, salvage, or sell the device to recover unpaid diagnostic, repair, and storage expenses, in accordance with UK law (Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977).

7. Limitation of Liability

  • 7.1. Direct Damages Only: To the maximum extent permitted by UK law, Reboot Ranch Limited’s total liability for any claim arising out of our services shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the specific service provided.
  • 7.2. Consequential Loss: We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, including loss of profits, loss of business opportunity, or loss of personal data.

8. Consumer Rights (UK Regulations)

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable UK consumer protection legislation.

9. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
